Clear purpose

Understand your new home before renovation, move-in or the next DLP decision.

A new home can look complete while still having workmanship, water-entry, plumbing, electrical or finishing concerns. Defect Pro records applicable findings clearly so you can decide what to raise, what to monitor and what to verify after rectification.

See the coverage clearly

A systematic inspection follows the home, not a random walk-through.

Common inspection zones may include roof and ceiling areas, wet areas, electrical points, openings and finishes when they are applicable, accessible and within the agreed scope.

When should I arrange a new home defect inspection?

A practical time is after key collection and before renovation or move-in, while access is clear and the applicable DLP process is still available.

Can you inspect both high-rise and landed homes?

Yes. The quotation flow supports high-rise, townhouse, terrace, semi-D and bungalow properties, with scope and pricing matched to the property band.

Will I receive photo evidence?

Applicable full-home packages include structured findings, photo evidence and a professional report. The exact deliverables are shown with the selected package.

Are roof and water-tank areas always inspected?

They are relevant to the landed-home checklist, but only accessible areas that can be approached safely are inspected. Any access limitation is recorded rather than guessed.

What electrical testing is included?

The inspector reviews visible electrical condition and performs only the functional or instrument checks authorised within the selected scope. The service does not replace certification or specialist diagnosis by the relevant licensed professional.

What happens when an area is inaccessible?

The limitation is recorded in the inspection evidence. An inaccessible item is not treated as checked, passed or defect-free.

Is the checklist the same for a condo and a landed home?

No. The working checklist is property-matched: the landed reference contains 13 categories and up to 84 applicable checks, while the high-rise reference contains 10 categories and up to 48. Only relevant and accessible checks within the agreed package apply.

Is this the same as a repair verification visit?

No. A first inspection establishes the wider observable condition within the agreed scope. Repair verification is a focused return visit against an earlier report or agreed repair list.
