Renovation Quality Inspection & QA
Record the starting condition and check workmanship while correction is still practical.
Record the starting condition and check workmanship while correction is still practical.
Renovation QA creates useful evidence at the decisions that matter: before the contractor starts, during agreed stages and before you accept completed work. It provides inspection support. It does not include daily supervision or project management.

Useful checkpoints happen before work is concealed and before final acceptance.
A planned sequence can preserve evidence of visible services, workmanship during finishing and the completed condition before handover.

These are the main renovation decision points. The selected visit is matched to the stage of work, the areas still visible, safe access and the questions the homeowner needs answered.

Plan the check before the work disappears
A useful checkpoint happens while the relevant work is visible and there is still a practical opportunity to discuss correction.

Get Instant QuoteIs Renovation QA the same as daily site supervision?
No. Progress QA consists of planned checks at agreed stages. It is not daily supervision, contractor management or project management.
Can I book only a post-renovation inspection?
Yes. DPM has separate Home Condition, Progress QA and Post-Renovation Handover options, as well as a coordinated Renovation Guardian journey.
Why inspect before renovation starts?
A baseline helps distinguish existing conditions from later workmanship concerns and gives the owner a clearer record before work begins.
When should a progress QA visit happen?
Plan it before the relevant work is covered and while the agreed stage can still be accessed. DPM confirms the intended stage and scope before the visit.
Can DPM certify structural, electrical or waterproofing work?
Not through a general Renovation QA visit. Certification, design verification and specialist testing require the relevant authorised professional or a separately confirmed specialist scope.
Can concealed work be checked after it is covered?
Only what remains accessible and observable can be inspected directly. Earlier photos or records may provide context, but they do not replace direct observation or specialist testing.
Does a post-renovation check tell me whether to release final payment?
It provides current evidence for your decision and discussion. The payment decision remains yours and should also follow your contract, agreed milestones and any specialist requirements.
